I’m a Production Manager and Production Systems Engineer based in Lafayette, Louisiana, with over 12 years of experience in the live production industry. I originally got into this world through audio, but over the years my experience has grown into production management, technical direction, system design, RF coordination, lighting, and networking.
I’ve had the opportunity to work on a little bit of everything including concerts, festivals, theater, dance, corporate events, houses of worship, touring, and studio recording. Audio is still a big part of what I do, and I have extensive experience mixing front-of-house, monitors, and broadcast. I’m comfortable working on both digital and analog systems and have experience with everything from small events to large, multi-department productions.
Over the years, I’ve also become more involved with the systems side of production. I enjoy designing and deploying audio systems, working with Dante and other audio networks, coordinating RF, measuring and tuning systems, and troubleshooting when something isn’t working the way it should. I’ve found that I really enjoy figuring out not only how a system works, but how all of the different pieces work together.
My experience as a Production Manager has also given me a much bigger picture of live production. I’ve managed crews, budgets, schedules, equipment, show advances, and technical requirements while still being willing to jump behind a console or help solve a problem when needed. Live production doesn’t always go according to plan, so being able to communicate, adapt, and find a solution is a huge part of what I do.
As I continue to grow in the industry, I’m becoming more focused on system design, system engineering, and network engineering. I want to take the experience I’ve gained from actually using, deploying, and troubleshooting these systems and apply it to designing better ones.
At the end of the day, I enjoy making things work. Whether I’m mixing a show, designing a system, troubleshooting a network, or leading a production team, I try to approach every project with the same goal: do good work, take care of the people around me, and make sure the show happens.
